Today, with all this globalization, takes a lot of importance, the transport of goods. Bulwark and pillar of our civilization, it is true that most of the way of most cargo is transported in the world, is made in huge container ships, or trains, but when the cargo arrives in port, are the trucks those who distributed to their final destination.
Deng Haishang designer has tried to give their vision of what should be a more efficient transportation, and has designed a futuristic truck, which I personally remember the Beluga aircraft in certain areas and that is inspired by nature, more specifically in insects.
This truck has based its main innovation in a variable length structure. The cargo area has a fixed size, as we are now accustomed to, but it’s made so that it can be extended depending on the load that will contain, thus, could double the size of the truck. The materials that make up its structure are resistant to shocks, despite the flexibility they have, and being able to adjust the length depending on the load, will provide ecological advantages, as it will be easier to handle when you empty or half load.
The other major novelty of this concept, and that much closer to Beluga cargo aircraft, is its cabin. This is not fixed as in the classic trucks but can be lifted in order to load ahead. The advantages of this are obvious, the more likely charge, more maneuverability, more versatility.
Obviously it is only one concept. Most, like me, you look ugly, but I believe it is very elegant, and offers some solutions or concepts that are really interesting and, in the near future, could be implemented in business models and perhaps improve somewhat times and transport quality, which benefit the companies, but also our quality of life.
