The Ford C-Max Energi uses advanced battery systems developed lithium ion and assembled by Ford in its own facilities in Michigan. Each system has been intelligently designed to maximize the use of common high-quality components, such as the control board, which have proven their performance in real conditions in the current Ford hybrid vehicles already circulating.

The Ford C-Max Energi, to be equipped with lithium-ion batteries, takes advantage of these is the nickel metal hydride (NiMH). Fuel efficiency in the long run can be displayed in two ways: as a traditional chart or using an innovative display to the right side of the instrument panel showing a vine growing. To reinforce the stimulus to the driver at the end of each trip a screen shows the distance traveled, the miles saved through regenerative braking, fuel consumed (average and total) score and regenerative braking.

The combustion engine can operate independently of the speed of the vehicle or charging the batteries providing power to the wheels as needed. The electric motor can provide enough power to the wheels in low speed and low load and work with the explosion at higher speeds.
